Ranch Rooms Rules And Information
Please remember, although we want everyone to have a wonderful stay, we are a family Ranch that caters to families. Please be respectful to all guests.

- Ice buckets are provided in each room. Please bring the bucket into the lodge and we will fill it for you. If you need more ice than the provided ice bucket will hold, we also sell bags of ice in the lodge.
- There is a common bonfire area with provided wood that any of our overnight guests are welcome to use. Please keep fires small and well within fire ring and ensure that it has burned down before leaving it unattended. Only the provided wood under the benches at the firepit is up for grabs, please do not help yourself to wood from our outdoor wood boiler or any other common areas.
- No fireworks of any kind permitted
- No drugs, including marijuana, permitted in the rooms, buildings or on the grounds
- All rooms are non-smoking. An additional $250 cleaning fee will apply for failure to comply.
- No underage drinking permitted
- Please drive slowly, children at play
- Children need supervision and parents will be held financially responsible for any damages done
- Please be cautious with bikes- when you see horses stop and let them pass
- Horses always have the right-of-way with all traffic-please stop and allow them to pass first
- Rules are subject to change without notice
Food and Beverage:
- Grills or grilling is not permitted on the front grounds
- You are welcome to bring your own food onto the patio area, covered pavilion area or on the picnic tables along grounds. Please clean up after yourself and utilize dumpster for your waste.
- Due to liquor licenses you cannot have alcoholic beverages on the patio or pavilion areas
- No glass on the grounds, in the pool area or on the river please
Dogs:
We do have a few dog friendly rooms, but the following must be understood and adhered to:
-Please be aware that we do have free ranging Ranch dogs that are often at the Ranch roaming around. Your dogs need to be okay with possible, occasional visitors of the canine kind.
-Pet friendly rooms apply only to dogs, no other type of animal. A maximum of 2 dogs allowed per room, at a rate of $30 per dog.
-If you wish to bring your dog you will need to request a pet friendly room at time of reservation. Dogs found in non-pet friendly rooms are subject to an additional $250 cleaning fee.
-You will need to be able to keep your dogs tied or on a leash with you, they cannot run loose.
-You will need to clean up after your dog.
-You accept full responsibility for your dog throughout your stay and will be held financially responsible for damages
-Excessive barking cannot be tolerated. You will be asked to take your dog home, without refund, if you’ve been warned about barking and it persists. Additional charges could apply.
-You will need to be able to provide a copy of your dog’s rabies certificate at time of check-in as requested.
-For service dogs you will need applicable paperwork documenting proof of certification
Fishing Ponds:
-Fishing ponds are able to be used unless a private event is being held on the grounds. Please understand these ponds are stocked, there is no catch and release and there is a charge for every fish you do catch. Pay at the front desk. You will need your own fishing equipment.
Ranch Horses and Animals:
-No feeding animals. Please understand we have horses with dietary needs, older horses that need to eat special feeds and mashes and other circumstances that can make feeding animals potentially dangerous and even life threatening. This includes apples, carrots, grass or any type of food-please no feeding.
-No going within fence lines.
-Remember, any animal can bite or kick. Please use common sense, watch your children and approach at your own risk.
-The barn is only open in season during daytime hours. Tickets for rides must be purchased at the main lodge beforehand. Bikes and strollers need to remain out of barnyard. And please do not bring your dogs, even leashed, to the barn as we have free ranging donkeys and other animals that, by nature, will guard their home and may chase down or injure unknown dogs.
Swimming Pool:
-The season varies based on weather and other circumstances, but the pool is open roughly mid June through Labor Day
-The pool may be closed at any time due to private events, rain, maintenance and so forth. We cannot guarantee it will be available for use during your stay.
-The pool is heated
-The pool is open only to registered overnight guests.
-Children need to be supervised by an adult
-No lifeguard on duty, use at your own risk
-No diving, no flips, no running on pool deck, no reckless play
-No hanging from the handrail, no disconnecting the rope that separates the shallow from the deep end
-No glass permitted inside pool area
-Please use foot wash to rinse feet before entering pool to limit the amount of sand being brought in
-Disregard for pool rules could result in a loss of pool access for the remainder of your stay
Additional Charges:
Please see the rates page for details on room rental costs. Please be aware that additional charges could apply for several things including, but not limited to:
-Failure to check out by check out time
-Damage done to the room, grounds or commons areas, whether intentional or unintentional
-Failure to clean up after your dogs. Damage done by your dogs.
-Loud or disruptive behavior that interferes with other guest’s stay
-Guest day pass bands for visitors coming to visit you that are not registered overnight guests (as available)
-Cleaning fee for smoking in a non-smoking room
-Cleaning fee for having a dog in a non pet-friendly room
-Miscellaneous charges related to your stay in terms of rentals, transports and beyond
River Access:
-Ranch Rudolf is not a public access point, launch or landing site for the Boardman River. It is only available for our own registered overnight guests to use.
-Registered overnight guests with their own river equipment are able to use the landing next to the swimming pool as an access point to the river. You will need to have your own way to transport your equipment upstream or pay a transport fee (as available) for us to handle it.
-Keep horse crossing area clear at all times, this is not an access point or exit point for the river
-In season we rent canoes, kayaks and river tubes and transportation is included in the rental fee. Please note: the challenge for this river is moderate and it is not recommended for the inexperienced or those fearful of getting wet or tipping over.
-Overnight guests wishing to fish or fly fish the river will need a fishing license to do so and should access the river downstream of the wooden steps near swimming pool to best avoid heavy river rental traffic and horse crossings.
Points of Interest:
-The small town of South Boardman is only 9 miles from the Ranch. It has a gas station, dollar store and a nice family owned restaurant called Yankee Boy that has wonderful breakfast, lunch and dinner.
-We are only about 8 miles from the little town of Fife Lake which has a Village Market grocery store, a couple of bar/restaurants, an ice cream shop, two gas stations, a couple of dollar stores and a small beach area and boat launch.
-We are only 12 miles SE of Traverse City where you will find most anything you are looking for in terms of specialty shops, fine dining, chain restaurants, box stores, beaches and more.
